Full July Schedule

RUPERT PARADE/KICKOFF

Kick off our festival week at this free, interactive event!  The evening begins with a parade of teams around the Rupert Square.  Teams perform to live music as they give a sneak peek of the week’s performances and the crowd is able to participate with the international dancers and musicians.  There are local food vendors and the international teams often bring items to sell from their countries.  You won’t want to miss this fun-filled evening!

Monday, July 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Rupert Square

YOUTH CULTURE DAY

Join us for one of the highlights of our festival — Youth Culture Day.  This event is free to children of all ages.  Small groups rotate to participate in workshops presented by our international guests.  They see dances and costumes, hear different languages, learn about the different countries and cultures and ask LOTS of questions.  Each child in attendance is given a “passport” with a page for each country they visit throughout the day.  At the end of each presentation there is time for the dancers to sign the children’s passports.  This is a day that you and your children will never forget!

Wednesday, July 26 at Burley High School, King Fine Arts Center

Check-in starts at 9:30 a.m. and workshops start promptly at 10:00 a.m.  We take a short break for lunch at 12:00 p.m.  – bring your own for a picnic outside the high school, or join the Lunch in the Park at Storybook Park.  Workshops start again at 1:00 and end at 3:00 p.m.

Gala Performances

Take a trip around the world at one of our Gala Performances.  There are three gala performances during our festival week – two in Burley and one in Twin Falls.  At these performances, the dancers present their best dances in colorful costumes.  They spend hundreds of hours preparing for this high-energy presentation.  These authentic folk dances are performed to live music and provide a glimpse of the history and culture of the different countries represented.  You’ll be amazed at the quality of these world-class performers!

Friday, July 28 and Saturday, July 29 at the King Fine Arts Center in Burley.

Pre-show with local performers starts at 6:30, with the Gala presentation at 7:00 p.m.
